Supporting cognitive development

Why are mirrors important?

Mirrors are fantastic for little ones! They offer numerous benefits for children's development and encourage play and exploration. By using acrylic mirror, all HT designs are shatterproof and therefore you can have peace of mind that your little one can explore safely.

Social and Emotional Development

  • Self-awareness and recognition: mirrors help toddlers to recognise their own faces and bodies, a crucial step in developing self-awareness and identity.

  • Language development: Pointing out facial features ("look, here is your nose") and engaging in mirror play activities (like making funny faces) can enhance language skills and vocabulary.

  • Emotional development: mirrors provide opportunities for kids to see and explore their own emotions, promoting emotional literacy and social-emotional skills.

Cognitive development

  • Gross motor skill development: mirrors encourage movement and exploration which help little ones to develop gross motor skills.

  • Imagination: all HT mirrors feature fun, engaging designs sure to get imaginations going!

  • Visual tracking and observation: observing their reflection and the objects in their environments from different angles helps children to develop visual tracking skills and observational abilities.
